Details: [AlertDC] The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Warning for the District of Columbia until 12 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. WHAT: Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. WHERE: District of Columbia. WHEN: Until 12 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. IMPACTS: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: At 9:52 PM, gauge reports indicated flooding was ongoing on at Rock Creek. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen earlier this evening. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Some locations that will experience flooding include Adams Morgan and National Zoo. Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
