Details: The District Government Cold Emergency Plan will remain in effect until 8AM Tuesday, January 22, 2019. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the current temperature is 15 degrees with a wind chill of -1 degrees. Tonight’s forecast is clear, with a low around 15 degrees and a wind chill of -3 degrees. Northwest winds of 7-14 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. The District activates the Cold Emergency plan when the temperature and wind chill drop to 15&#176; F or when the temperature, with wind chill, is 20&#176; F and there is an accompanying meteorological event such as rain or snow.
